Hops Types

 

Cascade

This is the most popular variety of hops in the United States. It is considered the “Classic American Hop” with a medium aroma of floral and citrusy tones – specifically grapefruit. Used mostly for bittering.

Centennial

This is considered the “Super Cascade Hop”. It is a highly flavorful variety due to its balance of aroma, bitterness and lupin content. Centennial has the aroma of pine, citrus and floral. With a depth of bitterness and forward aroma.

Chinook

This is a dual – purpose hop used for bittering and flavor. Chinook has an intense aroma consisting of a spicy, pine resiny, and a bright grapefruit character.

 

Mackinac

This is a favorite of many as it is a super – aroma hop. Consisting of robust tropical, citrus, melon, papaya and spice aromas and flavor

Michigan Copper

This is a vigorous super – aroma hop with fragrant floral and tropical fruit aromas and flavors. Consisting of fragrant floral, tropical, Hawaiian fruit punch, cinnamon red hard candy, black cherry and hibiscus resin.

Triple Perle

This is a higher alpha acid hop which will offer a smooth mild bittering agent. Consists of tropical notes of melon, orange and peppery spice.
